A Silent Night's Lament

Tonight, the moon casts an unearthly gleam

On me and my thoughts, as of you I dream

With open eyes; sleep has eluded me

This night, perhaps only yours it will be.

Behind the mirror of my eyes, you lie,

And run away with my tears as I cry.

Let one last drop of you stay within me;

Don't wring me dry, let this night see

The scars where my memories cut me deep,

The wounds where bled dry my beliefs.

Tonight, the moon weeps for a broken dream,

This silent night's song now sounds like a scream;

Singing the tale of two souls gone astray,

Speaking of perfection - that lost its way.
